In my entire existence on earth I can’t think of a single other time I didn’t finish my meat because it was too chewy. The beef at the mongolian station was so chewy it was literally inedible. However the yumminess of the food left me a little dissatisfied. They had some kind of braised beef in gravy thing that looked promising but it was so chewy it was a total dud. They also have a large “American” food selection that I had no interest in. The sushi wasn’t horrible (bottom tier but I enjoyed it), and any time there’s a mongolian grill I can eat my entry’s worth just in shrimp so it’s hard to complain. The selection is enormous, they have a sushi station as well as a hibachi/mongolian grill station. And the price is insane, 10.99 for lunch. There’s a bunch of these around the state with minor variances in the name, it seems to be some kind of loose chain? įirst of all this place is immaculate, huge and just really nice. First one I went to was Flaming Grill in Linden. The other day I had 2 buffet lunches back to back. Ihope I will start to see some improvement in the comments here, where people start reporting of actual big changes before Ivisit again. So I’ve been borderline obsessing over buffets lately, this post covid buffet situation has really got me down. Iam just wondering how all the other reviews where people say that the food is good, if they are all actually tasteless? But here I left most of my food, as it was sotasteless, that I didn’t feel like eating it anymore.Įven the ice tea, just a simple unsweet iced tea, tasted like water. I tried taking different types of foods in my second plate, and by the end I had leftover in both of my plates, and I almost never leave uneaten food as I take only how much I can actually eat. But this is something that I never had, which means tasteless food.Įven the salmon fish simply hadno taste to it. I have had real badfood, and real good food. I eat a lot of Chinese food, and have been all over the country. How do you expect to have continuous customerswhen all of your food simply has no taste? However, the number one priority in a restaurant, should be the cook. I hate to give low ratings for restaurants, knowing what they have been going through the last 2. This was my first and LASTtime going to Flaming Grill Buffet. Then to top it all off, I was extremely upset with the fact that there were NO snow crab legs,as that was our main reasoning for going! On the website and takeout menu, they have them listed. Which was an extreme clutter and made it hard to eatwith so many plates on the table. All dirty and unused platesstayed on our table until someone else came and cleared them AFTER we paid. She didn’t come back to the tableuntil she dropped our check, although she walked by multiple times and we clearly needed service. She cleared our plates that ONE time and got ONE refill. It seemed like I was a botherfor even asking her to do her job. I hadto wave her down to stop her and ask, which she then just stopped & looked at me, saying nothing. ![]() ![]() ![]() She walked passed us multipletimes, without clearing ANY plates or asking for refills - which is literally ALL they are required to do at a buffet. Once wewere sat, our waitress was extremely rude and had no desire what so ever to take care of us. I then go “hello, is there a wait? Is this where I give my name?” The young lady proceededto completely ignore me and stare into space (honestly, this is when we should’ve just left and went to another restaurant).Another young man behind the counter overheard me, stepped in and took care of me. ![]() When I approached the host stand, the host literally just stared intospace, not even acknowledging me. When wearrived, there were a lot of people waiting in the lobby. My family and I were excited to try this local buffet as the reviews were decent. I’ve been a waitress/server/bartender for over 10 years and that was by far the. TERRIBLE service from the moment we walked in.
